Reykjanes Iceland Vow Renewal | Iceland Elopement Photographer

When a pair of wedding videographers reached out to me to photograph their Reykjanes Iceland Vow Renewal, I was ecstatic. Some people get nervous when other professionals in their industry want to book a session but I freaking LOVE it. Brandi & Josh, in true wedding professional fashion, even brought and set up their video equipment to film their sweet vows as they reaffirmed their love for one another.

Being an Iceland Elopement Photographer, something else I do a lot of is Adventure Vow Renewals.

Sometimes couples have to rush their wedding planning, or feel like they have to settle on their wedding location for multiple reasons, or they didn’t have as much time for their portraits on their wedding day as they wanted. Or, they just want want to have an adventure for their anniversary to get mushy AF and spill their guts out to one another.

Adventure Vow Renewals are so, so special.

I often say this when couples reach out to me about if I would be able to document their vow renewal and take them on an epic adventure. Vow renewals are almost more special than an elopement, I know I know, but hear me out. When a couple is getting married, it’s the start of them committing themselves to one another. Marriage is huge, it’s something that is insanely special. But, having a vow renewal after one, two, five, ten years of being together in a marriage and saying ‘YES. YOU. I STILL WANT YOU’ is POWERFUL. Being with someone and living through all of their personality traits and still saying that they are, without a doubt, the one for you PLUS adding in more promises to one another on their next chapter as the pages are turning.

Man, it makes me tear up every time.

Brandi & Josh’s Iceland Vow Renewal was no different.

(Leave No Trace disclaimer: the lupine here in Iceland are actually an invasive species and a weed, unlike some other areas where they are considered protected wild flowers. There was no harm done in this session.)
